Our Trustees
Darpit Mehta - Chair
Darpit founded the volunteering programme in 2012 and now chairs the board of Trustees. His role includes managing external relationships and the overall direction of the programme. He has personally volunteered at the programme’s partner school in Bhuj in 2013 and 2014, Manali in 2014 and Uganda in 2019. Darpit studied law at the University of Warwick, graduating in 2014 and currently works as a solicitor in London, specialising in private equity M&A.
Shivam Soni-Sadar - Treasurer
Shiv manages the finances of Project Care Volunteering, ensuring the Charity runs smoothly in the background. Alongside this, Shiv takes an active role in volunteer management, co-ordinating with the schools on resources such as transport and food. His role also includes organising the annual volunteers’ training workshop, where the Charity runs a series of sessions to prepare prospective volunteers for their upcoming volunteering trips.
Shiv has been on trips to Bhuj in 2015, Manali in 2016, and Uganda in 2019. Shiv studied engineering at the University of Warwick, graduating in 2016, and currently works as a commercial business partner in London.
Riya Pabari - General Secretary & Volunteer Manager
Riya is primarily responsible for organising board meetings, supporting the trustees in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities, and managing correspondence. Alongside this, Riya also works with Meera on organising and running the volunteering trips. Riya set up the volunteering programme at the University of Nottingham in 2014 and has been on trips to Bhuj in 2015, Manali in 2016 and Uganda in 2019. Riya studied mathematics at the University of Nottingham and currently works as a portfolio specialist within asset management in London.
Meera Sindha - Volunteer Manager
Meera manages the recruitment and retention of volunteers, involving regular communication and troubleshooting. She also leads on developing and delivering safeguarding training for all volunteers attending trips. Meera set up the programme with Riya at the University of Nottingham in 2014, and has been on trips to Bhuj in 2015 and Uganda in 2019. Meera studied Psychology at university and currently works in London supporting schools and colleges with their careers education.
Nikita Shah - Communications Manager
Nikita manages the Charity's various social media platforms, keeping donors and followers updated on news around fundraising, volunteering trips and events.
She has volunteered in Manali in 2016 and helped coordinate volunteers for the 2017 trips. Nikita studied natural sciences at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2017 and currently works as a healthcare market researcher in London.
